Jeff and Teri Balow purchased Balow's Hwy 7 Auto Salvage, Inc in December of 1996. Our background started in 1989 with the installation and selling of Hollander Yard Management Systems; the elite of Yard Management Computer systems and Interchange manuals. After discovering what a friendly industry it was, we decided it was time to make the change to
getting our hands into the industry.
The yard we purchased has been in this prime location for over 10 years. It changed hands
many times and finally, has found owners that care about the presentation and appearance
and reputation of the yard. Many changes have happened since purchasing the yard. In 2001
we faced a tragidey that we hope no one else experiences. We had a fire in the garage of the
shop, the entire buidling burnt to the ground. For 6 months we worked out of the little house
on the property. We are now the proud owners of a new building, with up to date equipment.
We crusher was purchased to crush cars to make the appearance of the yard, more
presentable.
The number of cars that are in the yard at any given time has increased from 300 to over 1000 cars. There are walkways, and rows for us to better service the customers. A giant map in the
front of the office helps us assist those Saturday afternoon treasure hunters. We started with
just Jeff and 1 employee when the yard was purchased. Teri worked on Saturdays to assist
with bookwork as well as other tasks. Teri is now a full time employee at the counter. We
now have 3 employees. They are dedicated, hardworking people, that care about the quality
of the job they do, as well as the quality of the parts and service we deliver to our customers.

We will continue to make improvements, and are very proud that we are helping to make the
planet a safer place by recycling. We recycle antifreeze, we utilize the oil we drain from cars
to heat our workshop, we have been certified to recycle Freon. We hope to continue to grow
and service our community.
We are a proud member of the MN Auto Recyclers as well as MNCAR. We are diligent in
keeping with the MN pollution. We continue to test our waters and drainage, and continue
to get above average ratings.
